Kreston Peckham
Mr. Peckham is the drama director for Appleton West and divides his time in the classroom between West and the Renaissance School for the Arts. Over the years he has directed a wide variety of plays and musicals including 1984, Little Shop of Horrors, Urinetown, And Then There Were None, The Curious Savage, Macbeth, Diary of Anne Frank, Arsenic and Old Lace, and The Wizard of Oz, which he co-directed with Mrs. Whittle.
Mr. Peckham spent two years working closely with his Renaissance students to write and ultimately present a theatrical performance of the original play We Are Hmong. Using first-person accounts gathered by the students from their own family histories, the play told the story of the struggles of the Hmong people during the Vietnam War and those faced upon their arrival to America. He has also directed and acted in several shows for Attic Theater, including Proof, The Art of Dining, The Miracle Worker, Last Night of Ballyhoo, The Sensuous Senator, and The Amorous Ambassador.
Mr. Peckham is a self-proclaimed military history geek and in his free time enjoys modeling WWI aircraft, painting historical miniatures, and reading. His miniatures have been on display at Green Bay’s Neville Museum and the Gettysburg National Military Park. Several of his pieces currently reside in private collections in both the US and in Europe. He was one of the founding members of The Artist Preservation Group, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historical sites and artifacts.
